He kicked off his birthday week with a baseball party with his closest friends...(I totally failed by not getting a picture of the whole group together !)
After his party he got to open gifts with the family. His reactions to his gifts were priceless...after opening a truck with a flatbed trailer and backhoe loader that he's been wanting he exclaimed, "It's just what I had hoped for!" and after opening a new pick up truck to pull his horse trailer (his first pick up truck found it's way to the dump after losing the hood, doors, and finally having a broken axel), he so VERY excitedly said, "LOOK MOM...IT HAS DOORS...AND LOOK, A HOOD!" as if he'd completely forgotten that his old one also once had doors and a hood. The lifespan of toys in our house, with two boys, just isn't very long. He also got some new pirate stuff which has been a huge hit!

This was the first year Sam was in school on his actual birthday. We started off the day with a special breakfast out before school. Sam wanted a "sticky bun"...one of his favorite treats...and also wanted bacon, sausage, eggs, pancakes, and chocolate milk! I can't believe his stomach kept it together!

He got popsicles after lunch at school for his birthday...
And we had dinner with the family at Sam's favorite restaurant, Purple Cow...
We wrapped up the week by taking Sam to his first Ranger game...(complete with a hot dog, peanuts, Cracker Jacks, and Big League Chew bubble gum)

| After the game we waited in line to go on the field to run the bases. |
It was a big week of big fun! And now we have a big five year old little boy!
