Sam's Birthday Month

We just wrapped up Sam's birthday month...sort of. My famous last words were, "No thanks...we don't need to drag it out," when his teacher asked if we'd like to celebrate his birthday (late) at school a week after school started. And dragging it out seems to be exactly what we've done. Sam's birthday party here at home came without the planned bounce house because of the incessant rains we got that day. And since he was expecting one, he asked about it, was disappointed it didn't come, we promised it for another day, and he still continues to ask about his bounce house a month later. My plan is to get one for a playgroup one day, but rain has been in the forecast every "playgroup day" since his birthday. The party did end up being a great success. It turned into a "rain" party...wet, dirty, happy kids and very fun parents who allowed it all to happen. The great barbeque hubby got up to start at 4 am and slaved over all day probably helped keep the parents happy.

On Sam's actual birthday we had a family dinner out to eat pancakes...Sam's favorite meal. But not just any pancakes. One of our favorite breakfast/brunch restaurants, Cafe Brazil, actually serves M&M pancakes! What more could a kid ask for?

More fun birthday pictures are in the September albums on our photo website. (password is our last name, case sensitive)
