Our First Tomato
We finally got a tomato from our tomato plant. We planted a grape tomato plant for Sam in the late spring and we were getting nothing from it. Lots of flowers, but no fruit. We began reading and hearing that this seemed to be a trend this year...although, we still don't know why. Then finally, sometime last month, we noticed more and more flowers, and finally some fruit...and we've watched a little single tomato grow, then from green to orange and now red. Sam had the pleasure of picking and eating his red tomato this morning. He ran outside yelling, "It's red! It's red!"...you would have thought I'd given the child an ice cream cone! It looks like we may get a another bunch too.
